About Me

I am an independent exhibition designer with over a decade of experience designing fine art exhibitions in a variety of medium and scale. I begin each project first by listening and learning. My approach is collaborative. I enjoy working through the process to realize a curatorial vision.

Biography

After more than a decade at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, working with the Museum’s world class art collection and curatorial staff, I have designed over 40 exhibitions and permanent gallery spaces, varying in scale and media. My work involves designing a visitor’s experiences through an exhibition, including space, furniture, cases for artwork, and graphic design, starting at conceptual visualization all the way through the construction phase.

With a B.A. in art history from Boston University and a master’s degree in architecture from Washington University in St. Louis, my exhibition design work is founded on a deep appreciation for art and how to create spaces that tell stories.

My Approach

Exhibition design influences the way people engage with art. Working across diverse cultures, media, and historic periods, I understand how people interact with objects and how design affects their experience. My approach seeks clean and innovative solutions to construction and presentation, explores the connection between didactics and objects, and how lighting and color affect how art is seen. I work in partnership with conservators to find creative and comprehensive solutions that assure an object's safety.
