About Me
I'm an independent exhibition designer with over a decade of experience creating fine art exhibitions across a wide range of mediums and scales. My work shapes the visitor’s experience of an exhibition — its space, furniture, casework, and graphic design — from early conceptual visualization through construction. Every project begins with listening and learning—understanding the story before shaping the space around it. My approach is deeply collaborative; I find the most rewarding part of the work is partnering closely with curators throughout the process to bring their vision to life.
Biography
For over a decade, I worked at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, where I collaborated closely with the Museum's world-class art collection and curatorial staff to design more than 40 exhibitions and permanent gallery spaces, ranging widely in scale and media. For the past four years, I've continued this work independently, partnering with museums and curators on projects of varying scale and scope.
I hold a B.A. in art history from Boston University and a Master of Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis. Together, this background grounds my exhibition design in a deep appreciation for art and a practiced sense of how to create spaces that tell stories.
My Approach
Exhibition design shapes how people engage with art. Working across diverse cultures, media, and historic periods has given me a deep understanding of how visitors interact with objects and how design influences that experience. My approach seeks clean, innovative solutions to construction and presentation — exploring the relationship between didactics and objects, and how lighting and color shape the way art is seen and understood. Throughout, I partner closely with conservators to find creative, comprehensive solutions that keep each object safe.
